Born in the North East of England, Dr. Tom Bielby completed his Medical training in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He spent time further specialising in Acute Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine in the West Midlands in the U.K. before starting his specialization training in Family Medicine. During this time, he met his future wife, who was a Canadian Doctor working in the same hospital. Following the birth of their second child they made the decision to emigrate to Canada with the aim of taking advantage of all the Okanagan has to offer across all four seasons. When not working, you will likely find them either Hiking or Biking, and if you ever happen to see him on a ski hill, he'd advise you give him a wide berth.

DR. TIN JASINOVIC, MD
Dr. Tin Jasinovic is a primary care physician. He has recently completed his fellowship training in Sport and Exercise Medicine at the University of British Columbia where he obtained additional training in ultrasound-guided procedures for musculoskeletal conditions. Tin sees patients of all ages and backgrounds and believes that a strong understanding of patient preferences is fundamental to providing an individualized, evidence-informed treatment plan. With an extensive athletic background, his specialty interests include sport medicine, exercise prescription and targeted lifestyle interventions in the management of chronic disease. DR. WILLEM VANDENBERG, MD
Dr Will Vandenberg joined Hillside Medical Clinic in April 2020. He obtained his medical degree in South Africa and moved to Canada in 1991. He did post-graduate training at the University of Manitoba and subsequently practised Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Anesthesiology for many years in several provinces before moving to B.C. Following a number of years working in Whistler he settled in the Okanagan Valley, which actually was the intention all along.

Dr. Joanna Bielby was born in Poland but lived most of her life in Edmonton, Alberta. She attended the University of Alberta where she studied Molecular and Medical genetics. After completing her undergraduate degree, she moved to Poznan, Poland where she completed medical school. Shortly afterward she moved to England to complete her foundation and GP training. She, along with her two amazing young boys and husband, moved to Kelowna in 2020 to start a new adventure. DR. PETER DUX, MD
Dr. Dux graduated from the University of Toronto in 1976. He spent the first part of his career working in family practice, emergency medicine, and occupational health in Ontario. In 1999 Dr. Dux moved to Lake Havasu City in Arizona, where he spent his time working in family practice and in emergency medicine. During his tensure in Ontario, he wrote two research papers. In the spring of 2019, Dr. Dux left Arizona and joined the team at Turtle Bay Medical. When he is not working, Dr. Dux enjoys tennis, skiing, biking, reading and spending time with his wife and family.

DR. FRANK HEALEY, MD
Dr. Healey graduated from London University, England in 1976. After GP residency obtained postgraduate qualifications in Pediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology and became a member of the Royal College of GPs. He entered rural Family Practice in Wiltshire, England and then immigrated to Canada in 1996. Practiced for 10 years in Osoyoos, BC, where he was Chief of Staff in Oliver Hospital for several years, and went on to become President of the Section of FP of the Doctors of BC. From 2006 he had a practice in Vernon, and finally came to Turtle Bay in 2018 to enter semi-retirement and come closer to his home in Lake Country. He has been married for more then 30 years with five children, most of whom are in a medical profession. His hobbies and interests are skiing, cycling on E-bikes, and walking his dog on the many
surrounding trails.

DR. ANTHONY HLYNKA, MD
Dr. Hlynka graduated from the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine in 2003, and then completed residency training in Family Medicine. After nearly fourteen years of practice in Winnipeg, he has now called the Okanagan home. His areas of special interest include diabetes, asthma and allergy. Dr. Hlynka has an academic appointment at the University of Manitoba where he has been involved in teaching and mentorship of undergraduate and post graduate medical students. He is an advocate for physician health and wellness, and has presented at regional and national conferences on this topic. Outside of his academic activities, his interests include culinary arts, magic and yo-yos. When not at work, he can probably be found running on a secluded trail. He has also completed several ultra marathons, including 50km, 50 mile, 100km and 100 mile races.

Dr. Stephanie Lai is originally from Toronto, ON. She completed her undergraduate degree at Western University and attended medical school in Hong Kong where she completed her Family Medicine residency with UBC in Kelowna. She have fallen in love with the Okanagan and is looking forward to starting her next chapter at Turtle Bay Medical Clinic. In addition to her family practice, she has an interest in addictions medicine. Outside of medicine, she is obsessed with good food, and spends a great deal of her free time ‘curating’ food photos. DR. BRIAN MARTIN, MD
Dr. Martin grew up in Kelowna and attended Washington State University, as well as the University of Alberta for his undergraduate work. He also attended the University of Alberta for his medical school, and subsequently entered the UBC Family Practice Residency Program. After graduating there, he came back to Kelowna to work locums and Emergency, until he joined Lake Country Family Practice in 1992. He is married to Correne, his high school sweetheart, and they have raised three wonderful children. His interests include ultra-endurance cycling, hockey and traveling with Correne. During riding season, which is from March to October, his bike can be seen parked at the back of the lunch room, as he enjoys riding back and forth to work in the beautiful Okanagan weather.

She then completed a residency in Family Medicine, also at the University of Alberta in 1995 and then practiced in a few communities in Alberta prior to moving to Lake Country in August of 2013. Christine grew up in Lake Country and has many fond memories of the area. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of British Columbia – Okanagan. Since then, Christine has worked in a variety of environments: surgical, medical telemetry, emergency, critical care, and now community care/family practice. DR. JESSICA E STRASBERG, BA, M.Ed, M.D. CCFP
Dr. Jessica Strasberg grew up in Toronto, Ontario and practiced Family Medicine there until 2014 when she moved to Kelowna. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed her Masters in Education at University of Toronto in Counselling Psychology. She worked at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto performing Psychometric testing for a year before attending and graduating from McMaster School of Medicine in 2005.
Dr. Strasberg moved to Kelowna with her family in 2014 where she started a part-time family practice. Interested in women’s health, Dr. Strasberg decided to start a clinic with Dr. Best that offered contraceptive counselling including IUD and Nexplanon implant insertion with the goal of providing women with the information needed to assist in making their contraceptive decisions.
In her free time, Dr. Strasberg can be found on the ski hill with her husband and 3 children in the winter and hiking the beautiful trails in Kelowna in the summer.
